If you think flying DPs is a good idea as apparently some of our guys do...look at this from the other side of the lens and what it costs the company when we don't and then ask yourself from a bean counter perspective if it's worth it. I bet they say it isn't after tallying it up.
--Original DP was flown by an ANC Captain and the value was 69:10.
--NO Anchorage FOs grabbed this trip despite it being offered at draft, multiple times.
--Trip was then split between one LAX and one MEM FO.
--Total cost in hours of credit between them: Approximately 100
--Total extra hours to fill trip: 31
--Say average at 180 per hour=Approx $5600
--Total cost of bank for both of them: Just over $13000
--Add that up and that is roughly $19000 to fill one DP!!!
Tell me that doesn't hurt! Well done to the Anchorage FOs. Stay strong and support the SIG.
