This applies to any ALPA pilot no matter who you work for :

Since last summer and more recently, for the past few weeks, the xxxx MEC Government Affairs Committee has been in Washington D.C. working with other ALPA MEC representatives and ALPA National to gain congressional support to oppose the Obama Administration’s proposed Custom Border Protection pre-clearance facility at Abu Dhabi Airport in the United Arab Emirates.

Today, we need your support and action as a constituent and pilot partisan to contact your two U.S. senators. Ask your senators to sign-on to the letter, led by Senator Coats and Senator Klobuchar, addressed to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano concerning the establishment of the pre-clearance facility in the UAE. The Coats/Klobuchar letter is at the end of this communication.

This past Wednesday, ALPA volunteers delivered the Coats / Klobuchar letter to every U.S. Senate office. This letter needs broad bi-partisan support from the U.S. Senate.

Contact your U.S. senator’s offices on Capitol Hill today through the U.S. Capitol Hill switchboard. The number is: 202-224-3121.
Using the VOCUS Call-to-Action website, the View Profile link will list your senator’s Capitol Hill office number, to log-on use your 7 digit ALPA number for both the username and password.

The following U.S. Senators support and have signed-on to the Coats / Klobuchar letter; GA: Saxby Chambliss, Johnny Isakson, IN: Dan Coats, KS: Jerry Moran, LA: David Vitter, MI: Carl Levin MN: Amy Klobuchar, OH: Sherrod Brown. Feel free to call to thank your senator for supporting the Coats / Klobuchar letter.

Use the following script as a guide to discuss this issue with the senate offices. (Be prepared to leave a voice message, about 3 minutes):
